Hosting a Training & Demonstration Session
Current Ocean Business exhibitors can benefit from the excellent training and demonstration facilities at the National Oceanography Centre when they sign up for sessions at the show.

All exhibitors are guaranteed a complimentary training and demonstration classroom session but to secure this session, exhibitors do need to complete an application form. This same form is used to apply for any additional places in classrooms, the test tank, the dockside waters or on a vessel (subject to availability).
You might like to host a session on one of the many vessels (or bring your own!) and welcome clients old and new aboard. Your captivated audience will sail out to sea with you whilst you network and demonstrate your equipment that essentially could turn into major sales!
Alternatively, make a splash in the dockside waters where visitors can stand in a purpose built structure on the dock edge and watch your equipment at work in the sea. Or host a session in the onsite test tank or in one of the many classrooms available to exhibitors. With so many options, the only problem is choosing which facility to best demonstrate your equipment!
Training & Demonstration Facilities
Exhibitors will host demonstrations and train visitors on a wide variety of new and existing equipment, technologies and services using the following facilities.
RV Callista
The catamaran RV Callista is the a 19.75m (approx 65 ft) research vessel. With a capacity for up to 30 passengers, a robust ‘A’ frame mounted on the stern, she is capable of deploying equipment weighing 3 tonnes. The catamaran has a working deck aft, a wet lab amidships and a dry lab forward.
Vessels Alongside
Some exhibitors choose to bring their own vessels to Ocean Business. They are moored on temporary pontoons that join onto the permanent NOC pontoons. Visitors can sign up for a visit to these vessels by going to the exhibitor’s stand onsite. Dockside Demo Area
The dockside demo area is located within the dockside exhibit hall on the dock edge. There will be a small outside area where exhibitors can lower their equipment into the water. Visitors to the dockside session will be housed within a glass lined structure so that they can watch the demonstrations in comfort. No visitors are permitted into the launch area and buoyancy aids MUST be worn at all times by exhibitors when operating equipment. Any exhibitor wishing to launch equipment from the pontoon must arrange this in advance with the organisers.
Test Tank
Located in an adjacent room to the exhibit hall, the test tank is 4m x 5m (approx. 13ft x 16.5ft) with a depth of 3.9m (approx. 9.5ft). It comes equipped with an overhead Gantry Lift and 220v mains. Tables, chairs and electrical sockets are provided.
Classrooms
A range of classrooms are available – accommodating from 16 to 112 people. They are all fully equipped with data projectors, screens, tables and chairs. The session host must provide all other equipment.
