SUMMARY:Acoustic Release based Ropeless Fishing Systems
DESCRIPTION:The EdgeTech Ropeless Fishing System (RFS) is a unique acoustic release based solution which eliminates the need for a persistent vertical line to connect fishing gear to a surfaced buoy. Coupled with EdgeTech’s Trap Tracker app\, fishers can virtually mark trap and trawl lines and record the positions and catch information. Updates on new features and additions to the Trap Tracker application including CAPRI\, Continuous Acoustic Positioning Ranging Improvement feature and updates to the trap tracker application based on user feedback. The system can also be used as a low-cost sensor platform for scientific data gathering.
