The next wave in Optical Sensing from Sea-Bird Scientific

Spectral optical measurements always contains more environmentally meaningful information than those measured at a single wavelength, providing new applications relevant to society, including assessments of aquatic biodiversity, habitats, water quality, and natural and anthropogenic hazards. Eric Rehm, Senior Optical Oceanographer at Sea-Bird, will present Sea-Bird Scientific’s latest spectral innovations, such as a new dual-excitation wavelength ECO chlorophyll fluorometer, improved sensitivity of their ac-s spectral absorption and attenuation meter, applying additional rigor to the science and traceability of optical measurements, and quantification of optical measurement uncertainty through careful mathematical and statistical analysis of every component of those measurements.
