Senior Embedded Developer – TechWorks Marine
TechWorks Marine has an immediate opening for a Senior Embedded Developer to join our team as
we expand into existing and new sectors in Europe.
We are looking for a dynamic person with at least 5 years professional experience in Embedded Linux
Development. The ideal candidate should be a pro-active, self-motivated individual, a team
player/leader, capable of working independently. The ideal candidate should be looking to progress
their career developing embedded systems for use in the Marine Environment.
We are looking for a dynamic person who will have:
• A Degree or Masters in Computing or Engineering (Electronics)
• A minimum of 5 years’ industry experience in Embedded Development and/or Electronic
Engineering
• Project Management experience not essential but highly desirable.
• Able to manage a team of developers.
• High level of professionalism and good communications skills.
• Pro-active and flexible due to the nature of marine surveys.
• Experience with all stages of embedded development, from hardware and software
perspectives.
• Fluent in English
Your main duties will be:
• Work closely with the Survey team to prepare and test embedded devices prior to
deployment in challenging environments
• Lead the development of software drivers for new sensor integration into our embedded
systems
• Working with embedded communications, such as MQTT
• Have a thorough understanding of different communications systems.
• Prepare documentation to go with software code for DevOps applications
Your skills/experience will include:
• Commercial experience at working in Linux Environments
• Commercial experience in Python and Micropython
• Experience with low-level languages, such as C
• Being able to work to tight deadlines in a calm atmosphere
• Knowledge of operating oceanographic equipment a bonus
The position is based out of our offices in Dun Laoghaire. There is the opportunity to get involved with
